Urban Myths is an eight-part comedy TV series coming to the UK’s Sky Arts on January 19. The series features embellished retellings of popular rumored tales about real-life celebrities and historical figures. One of them, in particular, is SUPER WEIRD…
Urban Myths tells the story of Michael Jackson — he’s played by Joseph Fiennes (!) — Elizabeth Taylor (Stockard Channing), and Marlon Brando (Brian Cox) who are thought to have taken a three-hour roadtrip together in the wake of 9/11’s airport closures. One of the show’s episodes tells this story.
Another installment stars Iwan Rheon as Adolf Hitler and Rupert Grint as his friend. Ben Chaplin plays Cary Grant, Aidan Gillen is Timothy Leary, Eddie Marsan is Bob Dylan, and David Threlfall is Samuel Beckett.
Sky Arts will air Urban Myths in the UK later this month. There’s no word yet on when it might be available in other parts of the world.
